Great sites like Pandora could lose their ability to broadcast due to a recent decision by the Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, DC, which almost triples the licensing fees for Internet radio sites. Honestly, it doesn’t look good right now. So let’s hope enough folks will let their voice be heard. Visit Save Net Radio.

With excited anticipation that Hollywood was responding to the customer centric worldview, I posted news about My Movie Muse last July. After three months, I am disappointed to say that so far this supposed panel of movie goers has had little opportunity to offer real opinions on the content of films or the current film-making industry.
Instead, this has primarily turned out to be My Copyright Muse, giving us lessons (disguised as surveys) about why downloading movies illegally is so naughty. Oh well, so much for thinking and communicating with real people from Hollywood. Their surveys are just as two dimensional as an old Western set.
Universal starts legal games against video sites with lawsuits against grouper and bolt. Well at least their not suing some 12-year-old girl.
Apparently YouTube is getting ready to be sued into oblivion. At least that’s what Mark Cuban believes. According to Reuters,
“There is a reason they haven’t yet gone public, they haven’t sold. It’s because they are going to be toasted,” said Cuban, who has sold start-ups to Yahoo Inc. and CompuServe.
Dang! I was just starting to like YouTube. One minute they’re the fastest growing video sharing site in the world and the next minute they’re a burned up piece of bread from yesterday’s breakfast.
I actually think there’s potential to find a way to keep the irreverent and diverse user-generated content while still making peace with copyright holders and even welcome more commercial entities.
Well here’s hopin’ Cuban is just showboatin’ and the zany world of YouTube keeps growing and shocking.
