Reflections along the way.

Schastlivy Vmeste – Sitcoms Russian style

married-with-children.jpg

NY Times writes about the latest TV sensation in Russia:

Moored to his living room couch is a shoe salesman who is more interested in watching sports than conjugal relations. His wife has shocking hair and an even more shocking mouth. A couple of ne’er-do-well teenagers round out this bawdy, bickering bunch.

Sound familiar? It should, it’s the “authorized” Russion version of “Married with Children.” It’s great to know that America is still making a “postive” impact in the world.

  1. I recently read or heard that Russia had a “Russian Day” holiday where citizens were asked to stay home from work and procreate! What a great holiday! I’m not sure about the reason for the need for Russians to procreate but I have read that Muslim nations are encouraged to procreate. Because of this encouragement, the Muslim population of the world is expected to surpass the Christianity population in the future. I’d say this is an “underthecovers” covert operation on behalf of the Russians and Muslims to eventually convert the world’s religion to Russlim’s! he hehe! Uh huh, a sitcom like Married with Children in Russia is really a subliminal code for, “get busy”!

  2. Russia has negative population growth. I like your theory a lot better though.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.
